All of us will need emotional healing at some point as we all face challenges in our lives. Here, I’m going to share some tips on how to start emotional healing.
A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned in my newsletter that I’ve been experiencing emotional burnout and also noticed lately that my mental health has been really declining.
It’s essential to take care of our mental health, especially nowadays that burnout is becoming so common.
There might be a lot of reasons why we’re experiencing these challenges but ultimately, recovery and being able to bounce back is what matters the most so we can keep going, and take care of other things we care about and the people we love.

5 Emotional Healing Tips
As I’m trying to recover from burnout and heal emotionally, I want to share with you some helpful tips I learned on how to start emotional healing or take care of your mental health to avoid burnout. Here are some of them:
Be willing
Having the willingness to recover, heal yourself, make changes, carve-out time, slow down, etc. is a powerful way to start emotional healing. Being willing to be in this process is the most important step you can do for yourself.
Feel your feelings
I’ve talked about this before and in fact, I’ve posted a full blog about this. Feeling your feelings is part of the healing process. Our emotions are so powerful that if you ignore them they will come back to bite you. This is not to scare you, but the main point is: our emotions were made to be expressed, so try to be willing to feel them and sit with them.
Give yourself compassion
Self-compassion is learning how to be a good friend to yourself. Emotional healing is a lengthy process and being self-critical or judgmental will not speed it up. Being compassionate will help you be more understanding in this process.
Be patient with yourself
Another tip on how to start emotional healing is to develop patience. Again, healing is a lengthy process. There are some times that you might feel like nothing’s happening, but I believe that there’s always progress even if we don’t see it right away. That’s why we really need a lot of patience.
Trust the process
And of course, trusting the process is also always important. You might have already heard this before but emotional healing is not a linear process. It is beneficial to keep that in mind as we go along in this process.
